You are invited to the wedding of

Casia & Jacob

at Rumah Flora, Lombok, Indonesia

31st October 2025

We hope that this website will be handy if you decide to join us or just to explore and having holiday in Indonesia in the future. Everything in this article is purely based on our experience and opinion. Thank you for taking your time to read our mini article.

Flight

You can take any flight and arriving at LOP (Lombok International Airport). Unfortunately, there is no direct flight to get to Lombok, unless you live in Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia. So, a layover is necessary. But trust me, it will be worth it!

There are plenty of taxi will take you to your destination hotel, we suggest using blue bird or you can check any local taxi around

Transportation around Lombok

There are plenty of ways to explore Lombok, whether you prefer the convenience of an online taxi or the freedom of your own ride. Services like Gojek, Grab, and Blue Bird are available for scooter and car rides, and they're pretty reliable around major areas.

If you're up for a bit more adventure, renting a scooter is one of the best ways to get around and enjoy the island at your own pace. We've personally rented from Lombok Motorbike twice, and had a smooth experience both times.

They offer delivery and pick-up services right to your hotel (with a small extra fee). Based on our experience, here's what you'll need to prepare:

For locals, they'll usually ask you to leave behind your ID or SIM A as a guarantee. For foreigners, there's a refundable deposit of IDR 1,000,000 (around GBP 50), and they'll take a photo of you with the scooter for safety and insurance purposes.

Accommodation

Plenty of great places to stay, so where do we begin?

One of the closest hotels to our venue is Living Asia Resort and Spa, and we actually stayed there ourselves. Fun fact: I proposed to Casia right on the beach yard in front of the resort. It's such a special spot for us.

The stay was lovely, cozy rooms and friendly staff. Their breakfast and dinner are served with a stunning view of the ocean, and if you're lucky and it is not cloudy, you'll catch a breathtaking sunset with Mount Agung in Bali visible across the water. It's honestly magical.

From Living Asia, it's a short walk to Rumah Flora Lombok, our venue. During low tide, you can even walk along the beach to get there. Just a heads-up though: we don't recommend walking the beach path at night, as the waves can get quite high and it's not well-lit.

Also, if you're thinking about swimming in the sea nearby, we'd suggest skipping it. The current is quite strong and not ideal for a casual swim, but it's great for surfing, and there's even a surf school right next door if you're up for some fun on the waves!

Other hotel that we can recommend that is nearby the venue is any hotel that is in Sengigi area

Visa

So, there are two ways to get a visa for Indonesia: online (e-VoA) or on arrival. I haven't tried the online one myself yet, but I've looked into it for next time.

When I arrived, I got the Visa on Arrival at the airport. It was pretty straightforward: I showed my passport, paid IDR 500,000 (around GBP 25), and they emailed my visa in for 30 days. You can pay it with Rupiah (Indonesia currency) that you can get in the ATM machine inside the airport or you can just your card.

If you want to make sure more about visa and applying it online, go for the online visa (e-VoA). You can apply before your trip at evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

Both type of visa still valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30.

For more detail information please visit evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

UK Government Advice

For those travelling from the UK, it's always worthwhile checking the UK government advice before going. You can find the advice here. Don't worry about the scary looking volcano warnings, there aren't nearby luckily.

And the vaccination recommendations can be found here.
